David Kanke, 5, who goes by ‘Lil D’ was made an honorary officer at the county sheriff’s office and Pawhuska Police Department. Kanke’s cancer was in remission but another tumor, this time on the left side of his throat, was discovered, prompting the act of making him an officer for the day. The departments also gave him his own “police car.”<\/p>\n

UPDATE: Kanke’s latest scan came back and the tumor is gone.<\/p>\n
